Education & Profile

Elliott has been working in the bioinformatics field. Currently with the Atreca Inc in San Carlos, California, and prior to that, at the Institute for Genome Sciences (University of Maryland School of Medicine) in Baltimore, Maryland. He has a BA in Linguistics, with minors in Computer Science and Asian Studies from The University of Arizona (Tucson), two Masters in Computer Science, one from Tsing Hua University (Beijing, China) and one from Johns Hopkins University, and, finally, a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins.

Elliott speaks English, Spanish, Chinese, and Indonesian.

As an undergrad, he had spent one semester at Nanjing University in China, and one-semester tutoring in Taiwan, then when it came time to think about graduate work, he thought it would be different. A real challenge to try this in Chinese (and it's almost the furthest he could move?). Upon returning to the US, he chose Johns Hopkins to be closer to us.

He's a bright lad, and we are very proud to be his parents.
